Neutral Point Arbitration Services monogram

Procedures

Each matter is administered with procedural fairness, equal access for both parties, and no ex parte communication with the neutral.

Arbitration

Independent, impartial resolution for a range of labor and employment disputes:

  • Grievance Arbitration
  • Discipline and Discharge
  • Contract Interpretation
  • Seniority and Layoff Disputes
  • Interest Arbitration

Mediation & Factfinding

Mediation facilitates focused, confidential discussions that clarify interests, identify barriers, and help the parties develop their own workable settlement.

Factfinding develops a neutral factual record and, where requested, recommendations to assist the parties toward resolution.

How a matter proceeds

1. Request & conflict screening

The parties submit a request. The arbitrator screens for conflicts and issues written disclosures before accepting the appointment.

2. Scheduling & exchange

Dates, format, and participants are coordinated. Both parties exchange exhibits through the case portal; neither side communicates with the arbitrator alone.

3. Hearing

The matter is heard with procedural fairness and an equal opportunity for each party to present evidence and argument.

4. Decision & award

The arbitrator issues a written decision and award. The award is the independent work of the arbitrator alone.

Administrative document handling may be supported by back-office tools, but no automated system decides, recommends outcomes to the parties, or issues an award.
